| Uke |
The 'bottom' submissive sexual partner |
| Violence |
Not only for generic mission-related stuff, but mostly when it was affecting the char's personally |
| Yaoi |
Boy/boy or man/man sexual relationship |
| Yuri |
Girl/girl or woman/woman sexual relationship |
| + |
Denotes a romantic relationship only. Sometimes an author will choose to let the reader know that the relationship is a friendly one instead of a romantic by stating it like 1+2 (friendly). However, most of the time, it'll be a romantic relationship. |
| x |
Means a sexual relationship, often explicitly described, but also implied. The seme is to the left of the x sign, the uke to the right. This expresses who is the dominant partner in the relationship in the sexual sense (so in a heterosexual relationship, it would always be male x female, unless it is a female domination fic). eg, 6x9, 13x6, 6x2, 1x2, etc... |
| / |
I adopt this use for when numbers are not available to represent the pairing. It can be interpreted as either + and/or x from above. eg, Hiei/Kurama, Tala/Kai, etc... |
| Combination of Names in Pairing |
Lately, people have been getting away from the +, x, and / notations for the pairings. They've taken to combining the couple's names to denote a pairing. eg, Snarry would be a Severus Snape and Harry Potter pairing. |
